“The right practitioner isn’t the one with all the answers, but the one who helps you hear your own. Find the person who listens deeply, honors your story, and walks beside you as you return to yourself.”
About Me
Dr. Jessie Avery, DACM, L.Ac.
Licensed Acupuncturist • Chinese Herbalist • Somatic Practitioner• Doula
I’m Dr. Jessie Avery, a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner committed to helping people feel safe in their bodies again. My work sits at the crossroads of acupuncture, herbal medicine, somatic bodywork, and doula support—practical care for real life.
My path began over a decade ago in massage therapy, where I learned to listen closely to the body’s rhythms and transitions. That hands-on foundation led to graduate training in East Asian medicine: a Master’s in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine (AOMA) and a Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine (MCPHS). Alongside that, I trained in midwifery and birth support, which deepened my commitment to the sacred thresholds of fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Today, I bring these threads together in a grounded, results-oriented practice. Apothecary, in my name, honors my herbal lineage—it does not mean a retail shop. I am a care studio: I offer acupuncture and doula care, and I formulate custom herbs for established patients when appropriate.
Doula Care, Woven In
My doula work is collaborative and practical. I help families lower the noise and stay in choice—through prenatal mapping, comfort-measure practice (breath, position changes, acupressure, counter-pressure), partner coaching, and postpartum recovery planning rooted in TCM nourishment and nervous-system regulation. During labor, I provide continuous, non-medical support at the hospital, birth center, or home; after birth, I help establish warming routines, rest plans, and realistic rhythms for healing.
Scope & clarity: I do not perform clinical tasks or give medical advice. I work alongside your medical team to keep you resourced, informed, and calm.
